Going the other way, I always thought a female singer could cover "Yesterday and Today" on the first Yes album. Tori Amos, perhaps?

Just curious to hear some Close To The Edge's covers (Benoît David's former band).

One of my best achievements in life was to find this picture :D

I think Everything Everything could make some awesome covers, just imagine a cover of The Face with a more electronic approach... which makes me think immediately of Playing the Game!!!! Damn that would be a great cover...

and an orchestral version of Cardiacs' All His Geese are Swans! would be awesome too...

BTW, Paul Anka's take on It's my life by Bon Jovi is awesome. LOL

I've always wanted a prog rock band to do Stravinsky's Rite of Spring.  Like ELP did with Pictures at an Exhibition.  Except the original Rite of Spring is WAY trippier than the original Pictures (and ELP's actually), so the end product would be absolutely insane.  I'd say I want ELP to do it, but really only if it was during the Pictures era...they lost me after that (other than the single track of Tarkus.

Hmmm. My opinion is that ELP could not cover Rite of Spring with success. The only bands that could achieve this prowess would be Art Zoyd or Univers Zero, I think.

Yeah I agree, thats why I was hesitant to say having ELP do it.   But when I heard Mussorgsky's Pictures I never really would've thought they could do it either.  Either way though, theres much better bands than ELP, and bands that could do Rite of Spring better most certainly.
Best ELP versions of Pictures is on the bootleg series released a few years ago. There is a slimmed down version from the world tour (Rich Stadium,Buffalo NY 26/7/1974) which to be honest is untouchable.

Banco del Mutuo Soccorsso covering Trilogy, from ELP. I love the first two parts of this song, but the third is just the kind of thing I don't like from ELP. However, Banco usually plays this kind of thing in a way I can really come to like. Just as well, it may be cool to hear them cover Karn Evil 9 and Tarkus.
