Just a friendly reminder: In Lingua Mortua's sophomore album Salon des Refusés has now been officially released.
It's an intense ride through symphonic extreme metal, with references to King Crimson, Univers Zero and Goblin as well as 90's Norwegian black metal. For those who don't know, In Lingua Mortua is the brainchild of Lars Fredrik Frøislie, best known as keyboardist in Wobbler and White Willow. Lars brings his arsenal of vintage keyboards into a metal context with In Lingua Mortua. He is augmented by a stellar line-up that includes Jørgen Munkeby (SHINING), Ketil Einarsen (Wobbler, White Willow) and myself as well as some of Norway's best metal musicians.

Here's what SHINING's Jørgen Munkeby has to say:
"Lars' refreshing blend of an impressive intellectual display and direct raw power has been a big inspiration for me. Lars is a true pioneer. He was the first person to invite me to play sax in a black metal setting, and in so doing, contributed strongly to SHINING's later development of the Blackjazz genre."

You can buy it here: http://termo.myshopify.com/
And hear samples here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9X-YzwCU48 and here: http://www.myspace.com/inlinguamortua

Thanks,

Great, I've been anticipating their second release; I'll be getting it as soon as it's available here.

Wow!

Didn't know another one was planned. Great news. Loved the first. Will certainly be buying this one when I find it!

The mysteries of this site never cease to baffle me. My original post title got changed (by whom??), and is now wildly misleading. This is NOT a thread about a new SHINING album, but a thread about the band In Lingua Mortua's new album which features Jørgen Munkeby of SHINING and might appeal to fans of that band.

Can someone please change the title back? It was something like For fans of SHINING: New In Lingua Mortua.

I did wonder what was going on with the title. Confused

Good to hear this news though.  I haven't heard their debut yet though.  This sounds like it might be right up my street though!

I actually prefer pre-Blackjazz Shining a bit more, mind you.

Oh and good to see you in here again, Jacob.  I've spoken to you via MySpace before. Big smile

Excellent news, and just bought it. I loved Bellowing Tempest so I have high hopes for this one.

Must get confusing in the press releases having members from two different Shinings in the band!LOL

Spending more than I should on Prog since 2005

I don't know who changed it, but I now edited it into just In "Lingua Mortua new album out".

Are there any US vendors that you sold this to and from whom we could buy?

Assaf - thank you, much obliged!

We have US distribution through The End, so it should be readily available anywhere there. Additionally we sell directly to certain prog vendors, like The Laser's Edge, Wayside and Syn-Phonic.
