Interesting, that could be good. And I saw that Bill Nighy would be Kuato. And Len directing, which perhaps explains why Beckinsale and Nighy appear in the remake. Interesting.

MAtrix was "based" in MANY things... but the main inspiration, I think, was Neuromancer, by William Gibson.

Definitely Blade Runner, but since it was accidentally left off (more like conveniently omitted Wink), Scanner Darkly is also ace.
