I just found out that one of my favorite guitarists, Larry "Rhino" Reinhardt, just passed away!   Rhino was the legendary guitarist for Captain Beyond, and he made huge contributions to other bands & projects.

When Captain Beyond attempted to reform in the late 1990's, I was working with the band's management to try to find them gigs in Chicagoland.  They started out with some good buzz, even landing a magazine cover for a recording trade mag, but they never got the train rolling.  I still have some of the promo material & unreleased music on CD!

Here's another article:  http://basementrug.com/6893

*sigh*  The Captain was the FIRST band I ever saw in concert, warming up for Alice Cooper's "School's Out" show at the Chicago Amphitheater, July 28, 1972!   Amazing evening!!

I think I'm going to listen to some "Dancing Madly Backwards," excuse me....

Always hard to see your favorites go.

I stumbled across these Captain Beyond by mistake whilst searching videos through Youtube. Dancing Madly Backwards is great. Shame to hear this. RIP

I was fortunate to see him play with Iron Butterfly and Capt. Beyond.
RIP Rhino.

'Soul Experience' from Iron Butterfly and Capt. Beyond's 'Dancing Madly Backwards' still sound fresh.
