I used to have two of theirs but i'm not sure if i still do. I bought them because of Adler's involvement but it was more straight forward than Fates is all i remember.

Two albums: 'Engine' (1999) & 'Superholic' (2002)

The debut album, 'Engine' was released through Metal Blade Records in September 1999. Fates Warning lead vocalist Ray Alder wanted to try out a more direct, simple and groove based sound when the output of the band dropped off towards the end of the nineties, and he teamed up with like minded musicians in guitarist Bernie Versailles and bassist Joey Vera, who had toured with Fates Warning on the tour supporting the 1997 album "A Pleasant Shade of Gray" (Joey Vera had also participated in the recording of the album). The three then recruited Pete Parada on drums. Ray Alder is well known for his work with Fates Warning and later Redemption, but the other three members of the Engine line-up are also associated with well-known acts, such as Agent Steel, Halford, Arch / Matheos, Armored Saint and OSI among others.

Four tracks off each of the albums.

Decent enough Alternative/Groove Metal, but I can't personally hear much prog...

We have them placed in alternative metal on MMA: http://www.metalmusicarchives.com/engine.aspx?ac=engine
Personally I think that´s the place for them even though a couple of their songs have prog leanings. We´re talking two tracks on the debut and maybe one on the second album though.
