Yea, I'm not really hearing it either. Nice melodic hard rock, but there really isn't any prog in those 80s keyboard lines. LOL

I really dig this stuff, wow! Takes me back to my teens - even if I haven't heard this particular band before
Sounds like Judas Priest from the 70s with some ethereal synths except without the screaming vocals.
I am not hearing the prog though, sorry you guysEmbarrassed But let's see if Steve or Andy thinks otherwise.

And David, as always very nice input from youClap
You see, you've got fans from outside of the collab zone as wellClown

They were actually suggested before, way back in 2006: http://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=31477 - for Prog-Related that time - but there were no replies to the post at all. Prog-Related is a tough one to get in to mind you - it needs a Special Collaborator who believes they belong on the site making a case for the band to the admins. Ermm

This band from Derbyshire, UK is actually still a going concern, and 1981's 'Heroes, Saints & Fools' was an absolute storming album. Their latest album 'Marilyn' was album released on 23rd september last year - a concept album inspired by the life of Marilyn Monroe. An intoxicating mix of classic rock, powerful ballads and evocative lyrics: http://www.saracenlive.com/ and http://www.templarmusic.co.uk/ (their new website) for more info & links to buy the albums etc.
See also: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Saracen/116819448345683 (where there is news of a new album in preparation, samplers - just short snippets - of all their albums, and a full and extensive biography with details of all former band members etc), and http://www.myspace.com/saracenuk, where there is similar information and samples.

"Life-long pals Richard Lowe and Rob Bendelow formed their first band - 'Lammergier' - during the mid 70's, together with folk-guitarist-turned-rock-bassist Barry Yates...
Following their first live performance in 1977, the band gigged extensively across the English 'Midlands' during the ensuing years. The standard of those 'live' performances, combined with their unique brand of symphonic rock, s
aw Lammergier amass a large and loyal following of fans. Then a new decade arrived, and with it some major developments for the Matlock-based rockers..."

Go to the myspace or facebook links above for more, or read the full story here: http://www.templarmusic.co.uk/the-band.php... Thumbs Up

Plenty of other stuff to see on YouTube too - here's just one of them playing live a couple of years back at 'The Diamond' in Sutton-In-Ashfield:

Saracen - British heavy prog band started early 80's, sometimes gets classified alongside NWOBHM.
Were signed to Neat records.
They did some straightforward hard rock but also proggy stuff too.
