It actually does. And they could start by doing a cover of Colbert's awesome ballad dedicated to Mr Cliven The American Founder Bundy.

Maybe he's related to the infamous serial killer Ted Bundy?

I'm pretty sure he's more closely related to his sister-mother.

In theory, I support Bundy's claims.  I am an ardent supporter of the right to homestead/Lockean theory of property rights and don't think the government has a right to, well, anything.  What I cannot support is his use of the threat of violence to achieve his ends.  I'm not a pacifist but it's not always as simple as "they're my rights so back off or I'll shoot you," there are many other ethical and consequential factors to consider and I think that using armed force against the government is very rarely justified.  Injustice must always be opposed, but the pen, not the sword, is typically the more appropriate tool to those ends.

I'm not even close to supporting his of others like him's claims of "this is about rights" when in the end it's all about money. About the one million dollars he owes. About the money other ranchers have paid for years while this ignorant idiot hasn't.

I don't see why there has to be a money/rights dichotomy, it's an appeal to one's rights to defend one's property.  Whether or not he has broader motivations to make a statement about liberty or just wants to keep his cash is irrelevant to the validity of his claim because the concept of rights does not depend upon the motivations of the person invoking them.

I won't argue with you about "ignorant idiot," given what the guy has said to deserve the title...

And just for the record, federal grazing fees were established by executive order of one Ronald Reagan. Damn liberal.

The ranch was only purchased by his family in 1948. He's just a thief and liar.

http://truth-out.org/opinion/item/23444-william-rivers-pitt-cliven-bundy-clown-car-or-trojan-horse

...
His ardent gun-toting supporters at the ranch stood their ground...until a few days ago, when there was a sudden falling-out between Bundy's own ranch security - commanded by a man actually named Booda Bear - and a contingent of Oath Keepers who had come to the ranch because Jesus, or something. Their leader, one Stewart Rhodes, informed Booda Bear (God, I could type his name all day) that he had "intel" from a "source of intelligence of high value" that Eric Holder and the Justice Department were going to deploy a "hot drone strike" against the Bundy Ranch within the next 24 hours. Because of this, the fearless leader was forced to re-deploy his stalwart troops off the ranch and into hotels with room service back in town.
...

And so not with a bang, but with a Derp, solidarity at the Bundy ranch "battle front" fell to dust that swirled and eddied around the white skin of Booda Bear's ass.

I'm a prejudiced person. Whenever I see people with guns and bulletproof vests and military-type clothes full of American flags and ready to "defend their freedom" the first thing in my mind is usually "oh, low IQ", or "oh, overcompensating for something small"

If Bundy were black, we can be sure of one thing: He and his supporters would be dead by now. Whites are allowed to go around waving their guns at people in the US, but non-whites get put down pretty quickly.

^ I don't think most black Americans are stupid enough to pull Bundy's kind of nonsense;  that's classic angry white guy behavior.

We had a guy in here in Georgia flaunting/waving his gun around after Nathan Bad Deal signed the guns allowed everywhere bill into law.  And a guy went in to Fed Ex office and murdered a bunch of people in Kennesaw.  Kennesaw got famous/notorious for passing a law that all households should have a gun many years ago. That certainly made them safer...

BTW in case you didn't know he gets money from the Kochs...
