I honestly want to know that and I dont want to proof my opinion in this way. I really want to see one fit Example.
I haven't listened to Sanctuary yet but to answer to this point, Steve Morse's 2 Major Impacts albums are a clear example, he makes a homage to bands that influenced him by making new original songs in the style of those bands. Now, I don't know if there is a clear distinction between "tribute" and "homage" in English. Morse was completely open about it (it couldn't have been otherwise) and as far as I know nobody accused him of plagiarism for these albums, rather the contrary, he received appreciation.

I only have the first one of the two

and this was my review of it

The word "Tribute" is not printed on the album (it is not a Tribute to only one band but to many) but the word "Homage to xxx" is printed on each song's title.

I think and I recommend you to listen to "Sanctuary". Its very good stuff for Mike Oldfield's 70's style fans. I got my answer from Dean but this post open for other opinions.
I think PA must open Robert Reed's exclusive page . Maybe I use wrong word again (Exclusive). I mean Rob Reed have his own page and I think Crossover Prog is a good sub gen for him IMO.

I just listened to the Bandcamp stuff. It is indeed a blatant copy of Oldfield's style and tones but since Reed himself acknowledges that this was precisely his intention, I don't think we can accuse him of plagiarism but rather talk about a homage or tribute. Notwithstanding Dean's welcome clarification of semantics I can't help attaching a negative connotation to the word "pastiche".
At any rate Pt 1 is a really good track with its own melodies, and I like the fact that he plays everything with real instruments just as Oldfield did back in the TB / Ommadawn days.

Exactly you right. Dean's clarification enough for me and I dont accuse RB anymore and try to recommend his album. Sanctuary forced me to review Mike's albums again. But I like continue this posts and I really like to know other opinions. Thanks.

I prefer the word 'homage' over 'tribute' for some reason although I do suspect they mean the same thing essentially.

Behind of  "copy or tribute" reasons, I think "Sanctuary" is a good album.Good in my opinion is a 3 star album.  I like to read reviews and opinions about that.

Nevermind "Sanctuary". Kompendium "Beneath the Waves" was/is sublilme... and no obvious "plagiarism".

I was listen to CYAN's "The Creeping Wine" yesterday. I found Mike Oldfield's touch in this Album. Honestly I listened to this album over 20 times and I think this is a best album of Cyan (IMO) but I didn't find anything about Oldfield!! After "Sanctuary" I decide to review Rob's works again. Before "Sanctuary" I didn't zoom to Rob's works. Now I know Rob better and I think he really "Love" Mr.Oldfield and Oldfield's style is "Impressive and Important part" of Rob's musical career (IMO).
