In Absentia is a very good album and the only PT album I really like, but De-Loused is a modern classic.

Easy call - In Absentia. IMHO the PT breakout album. The only TMV that I have really connected with is Octahedron...

TMV isn't my favorite, but they're preferable to PT.

De-loused. I still think it's their best work, too.

Probably my second favourite album by either band. Went for In Absentia by a hair.

De-loused, my favorite from the Mars Volta beats my third favorite from PT, I know it's an acquired taste, but when it clicks, it just doesn't stop clicking, hell of an album.

In Absentia is a great album. .. De-Loused is an absolute gem of modern progressive music. A landmark album. Takes a lot to swallow... and helluva lot more to assimilate to the point when you really start enjoying it. But when you do.. You will never forget the experience.
