Collaborators/Experts Reviews

Review by Windhawk
SPECIAL COLLABORATOR Honorary Collaborator
3 stars Tommy Zvoncheck is a US-based multi-instrumentalist and composer, who has worked with quite a few well known artists over the years - most notably Blue Oyster Cult and Bruce Springsteen.

On his first solo release he seems to aim at the progressive rock audience first and foremost though; with virtuosic soloing on synths and guitars the main assets of his creation. And he succeeds best when mixing the bombastic, flamboyant synth explorations similar to ELP with melodic, atmospheric shredding in the manner of Joe Satriani from his Surfing with the Alien period.

Apart from those compositions there's a few more mellow and laidback creations, nice enough tunes but not making a great impact. Zvoncheck is a skilled performer, but seems to have development potential as a composer in his own right.

Worth checking out if virtuosic, skilled playing is of interest.
