Jouis biography
A Brighton-based act JOUIS (named after a French noun Jouissance which means high enjoyment, pleasure, sexual orgasm, or something) were founded in 2008 as a rock trio project by Joe WOODHAM (voices, bass, guitars), Louis PAVLO (voices, keyboards, synthesizers, piano) and Adam JOHNSON (voices, drums, percussion), for drawing on the Canterbury Scene groups of the late 60s / early 70s such as Caravan and Soft Machine seasoned with their own mellifluous West Coast harmonies. Their debut full-length creation titled "Dojo" was released in late 2014, and the second one "Mind Bahn" in 2019, via None More Records.

Review by Soul2Create

4 stars When I first listened to this album there was only a word I could think about: Wow! This is 4.5 stars really. This album is one of the best Canterbury/psych prog albums of the decade for sure. If you like early Caravan, Magic bus or Syd Arthur, then this is for you.

01. All that is and is one - 10/10 02. L-infinite-P - 8.5/10 03. What's new guru - 8.5/10 04. Earthly emerald eyes - 9.5/10 05. Hyperception - 9/10 06. New moon - 10/10 07. Mystly maker stomp - 8/10 08. Rain - 10/10 09. Universe googles - 9/10

Highly recommended to all fans of Canterbury and psychedelic rock
