Dendura biography
DENDURA is a progressive metal band formed in Detroit, Michigan, in the United States, in 2004.

DENDURA's brand of metal is very original and strongly influenced by Egyptian music and mythology. The band's most distinct element is their vocalist, Aziza Amy Poggi, of Egyptian and Lebanese descent, who helps give the music its strong oriental flavor. At her sides she has very skilled performers: Steve Wethy and Paul Stein on guitars, drummer/percussionist Justin Lee Dixon and bassist Jason Stevens.

After being formed in 2004, DENDURA spent a year writing songs, as they didn't have a full-time drummer. Jeremy Duffy soon arrived to fill the void.

DENDURA released their first full-length, "New Life", in 2006. The album attracted many, both fans as well as people in the arts world, where the band had some of their tracks licensed to use in films like "Perception", "InZero", and the award-winning film "Broken". The band was also asked to record a version of EDVARD GRIEG's "In the Hall of the Mountain King" from the "peer Gynt" Suite for the Comedy Central series "Monsters Ballz".

Sonic Cathedral begun distributing "New Life" in 2007; the album became one of the online store's top-ten best-selling albums. The band was hereafter signed by KillZone records. Their second album, now in their new label, is expected anytime soon. There has been some personnel movement in the band, with new drummer Justin Lee Dixon filling for Duffy.
