Great somewhat unknown singer.

I've always been a fan of Harriet's. One of the sweetest voices I've ever heard.

Had to go with Aimee Mann.  More for her folkish 90's/00's output than for her early synth-pop of the 80's.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

I went for Alanis as I have her first and I still like it.  Liz was pretty cool too.  Maybe I'm just a fan for women singing provocative lyrics.

Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

I voted for 4 Non Blondes. Just love that voice of Linda Perry. She made two greate solo albums after being disappointed with the abilities of her her band members.

As for that list: Where's T'Pau?.

Out of the list, Fleetwood Mac, but I've got to give it to Sarah McLachlan.

PJ Harvey, Björk or Portishead for me. Also, The Sundays were a really nice band.

From your list, I'd say Patti Smith.

Must vote for Sheena Easton because of the For Your Eyes Only theme song. Heart Laura Branigan's Self Control and many songs by Alanis Morissette were good contenders as well.

Alanis Morissette, no doubt. Good voice, good tunes...
Another of my favourite female artists is Rickie Lee Jones.

I decide to go with Tina Turner, just cos I discovered her
in the eighties (born 1981).I know she´s been singing for
lot of years before, but she´s still in great form being over 70
,if I´m not wrong.

From the list I would have choosen Babes in Toyland
as I knew them back in the nineties and liked it, not a lot,but
think they had badass attitude and made good punkrock.
The water rushes over all
cities crash in the mighty wave;
the final man is very small,
plunging in for his final bathe
