They did one album and copyed it 30 times.. at least bon
scott was an original singer but the " new one " sucks.. They have been
doing exactly the same music without any change for 30 years too long

ACDC are great for shaking the rust off! Highway to Hell and Back in Black are two of the best hard rock albums ever. I prefer the Bon Scott era. HtH is the only album to make the transition to my CD collection.

I often like their hard-rocking sound, but the grating vocals and often rather dumb lyrics always put me off ever buying an album.
I certainly don't "hate" them (or any band -- I reserve that word for much bigger/truly evil things), and there are many artists and genres that I can tolerate a lot less of....

Would it be fair to say that AC/DC = headbanger?

I can't stand AC/DC they have an irritating repeatative sound. Yeah, they put on a great stage show and everything, but I hate the tone and repeatition in their music.

AC/DC ripped off Free.
every AC/DC song is simply a remixed version of a Free song whether its is "Riding on a pony" or "All Right Now"
Free was the first to do meat-and potatoes rock, not AC/DC
Free. Rodgers, Fraser, Kossof, Kirke
Words are mere paltry in comparison

I can't stand AC/DC! Well, maybe I could stand them in very small doses, but I would never choose to listen to them.

I like em!
They never claimed to deep, progressive, clever or whatever. As Snow Dog rightly says they are just a straight talking hard rock band. They're excellent live; good fun!
'If you want blood..' is one of my favourite hard rock live albums.

The vocals in metal are meant to be annoying... and this is coming from a metal fan.
And once again - their music may be simple, but I'd like to see anyone play it the way they do. It's just like the Rolling Stones - Charlie Watts has tricks that are said to be extremely difficult to copy.

AC/DC are great! Sure we all like to listen to prog, but don't you have days where you just want to listen to something a little more simple and bluesly, that's what bands like AC/DC are for, enjoyment! They don't have depressing lyrics or act boring, they are exciting upbeat and generaly good at the music they play! It's all a matter of taste!

Not really into them, but yeah, they sure do rock .
And I would like to see any bashers here try to play AC/DC as tight and with the same 'feel'.

Think of it as junk food for the ears.
Sometimes you want a multicourse gourmet meal and sometimes you just want a fastfood burger and chips (fries... crisps) Sometimes you want to drink fine wine and listen to complex music, brilliant virtuoso playing with beautiful, breathtaking nuances... and sometimes you want to have a few beers and shake your butt to something loud and mindless.
One cannot live on white bread alone. (or whatever the saying is)
This goes for the whole "Punk vs. Prog" crap discussions that rear its ugly head in these forums.

Simple music, stupid lyrics, every album built on the same formula, a guitarist who uses the same chords and riffs over and over, start career as a small time Aussie band, gain world acclaim and millions of record sales, an active career that spans generations.
hmm.. I wouldn't mind a career like that.

I don't like them at all. Like classic rock in general, I want nothing to do with AC/DC.
