seemed counter-productive to me.

Very funny though!  That's one way to get rid of those annoying a**holes who post pithy crap and love to run on about how musically sophisticated they are and how great their favorite band is and how whatever the hell they bought from a cutout bin last weekend is pure crap and how charming their smelly cats are and ....<hey, how come this link doesn't work any more?>

I hate the "best prog metal bands/albums/song" polls that are very populer at the moment.

My cat is severely underrated in his technicality - he's definitely more technical than the next guy's dog. That said, he's a lot less progressive than 70s' cats.

As has already been said here -

1 - any thread with the title "best" or "worst" in its title.

2 - "chalk" vs "cheese" threads

3 - "rate my..." threads

4 - Really funny, intelligent, prescient threads, the idea for which I didn't think of first (i.e. all of them)

"I've got more CD's than you" threads. Those are really mature.

Threads that are nothing but emoticons and signatures telling us who you're favorite bands are. It's like watching commercials.
