Partially, you did Rach - but reading the synopsis & reviews, seemed like a fun read (especially after the historical novels's I've been reading lately) & anything to do with narrow boats can't be all bad.

Cropredy's just outside Banbury in Oxfordshire; about 10 minutes off the M40 Banbury junction (or if you get it at the wrong time during festival, about 2 hours

Yes, a very funny book. There's a follow up too called "Narrow Dog to somewhere in America that I can't remember the name of" (it's not actually called that, I really can't remember the name) which is also good.
