Progressive Biography

I have been a fan of prog since the early 70s, when my sister came home with copies of "Nursery Cryme" and "Once Again". I was initially mystified by Nursery Cryme and its bizarre tales of man eating plants, people being decapitated with mallets and men cutting their toes off and serving them for tea but I soon grew to love it and the second LP I ever bought was "Genesis Live" when it first came out for £1.99.
I later discovered various strange people at grammar school who were fans of Yes, Rush and ELP and I've gone on from there.
Those of you who know me from the forum will know that The Beatles are my favourite band. My favourite prog bands are those I've already mentioned plus (thanks to PA) I've also more recently discovered Renaissance, Pendragon, Salem Hill, IZZ, IQ, Echolyn and many others.
My other favourite non-prog bands are Led Zeppelin and XTC among many others.
I have been playing the bass guitar since 1976 and also strum a few chords on a Telecaster. I have been in numerous bands who never got anywhere - you can read about one of them (Staring Into Space) on my home page which is listed in my profile.
It is an honour to become a collaborator for this fantastic web site.
