He made some of the most moronic films in the history of cinema. I loved nearly all of them. R.I.P.

I saw it when I was young and thought it was funny, I saw it again when I was older and thought otherwise.  LOL

RIP Leslie. Can't imagine a spoof film without him.  One of my favorites was Mel Brooks Dracula Dead and Loving it with the late Harvey Korman.  Not only did these guys make you laugh they had a great time making the films and it showed.

Frank (Leslie Nielsen) : That's the red-light district. I wonder why Savage is hanging around down there.

Ed (Kennedy): Sex, Frank?

Frank: Uh, no, not right now, Ed.

Lt. Frank Drebin: Now, Jane, what can you tell us about the man you saw last night?
Jane Spencer: He's Caucasian.
Ed Hocken: Caucasian?
Jane Spencer: Yeah, you know, a white guy. A moustache. About six-foot-three.
Lt. Frank Drebin: Awfully big moustache.

This is sad news indeed.  Airplane is a fantastic film and the best of that genre.  Nielsen was a fantastic actor too.

In pace requiescat, Leslie.
