bizarre I like: Zappa for example. However I don't like everything he did (haven't heard all of his albums of course).

bizarre I don't like: Can. I'm not saying they didn't try to play music. But after listening to Tago Mago I think that time was wasted.

I always thought that the half-screaming, half-shouted German lyrics of " Deutsch Nepal" on Amon Duul's "Wolf City" constituted genuinely weird & bizarre prog!

Pretty tame compared to some of the stuff you folks put up her, though!  Merry Christmas/Happy Boxing Day!

Don't worry, I'll listen to Tago Mago enough times to make up for the times you don't, same goes for the other Can albums. Tongue  I think it's the best album ever recorded.

I agree.  I Think Tago Maho is a fantastic album.  Also I've not really heard anything by Zappa I didn't like, and the few I have we're just some slightly shorter poppy songs later in his career that seemed not very serious anyway.
Which of you to gain me, tell, will risk uncertain pains of hell?
I will not forgive you if you will not take the chance.

Not prog, but In-Konflikt by Genocide Organ surely takes the "Most Bizarre Album Award" out of my discography.

Thanks!  I actually wrote some electronic/processed instrument stuff that was VERY close to that back in the late 1970's, using stuff like balloons with coins inside, amplified sheet metal/wrenches & synth, plus electric guitar & bass!!

Some of my stuff was so creepy I don't even like to listen to it anymore!  However, these guys are beyond my best!!

Anything Can has recorded is pretty funked up, same with Gong and Dzyan.  Electric Silence is on the brink of total acid trip hysteria without completely going over.... ;D

Togo Mago is so ecentrically brutal it demands attention - it is compelling from start to end and ground breaking in its bizarreness.

yes, I am not ashamed to confess that I bought 4 CDs of grindcore (bands : antigama, mumakil, napalm death and atomsmasher). I like to listen to it sometimes.
I also paid to see dying foetus and napalm death on stage Shocked

(did I post here years ago? I don't think so, I've just found this excellent topic)

Search for CAROLINER in google images and tell me that's not bizarre and weird.

(not the car jack thingy, obviously)
