You're probably right. When I was looking through his gallery it said that these cars were designed OR built by Barris. There were a lot of TV and movie cars listed but obviously some were only designed by Barris and actually built by someone else.

I thought Jeffries designed the Batmobile and Barris fabricated it. I think the same may be true of the Munster Koach (and the Drag-u-la). However George Barris was a great cusom car designer/builder with many of his cars being reduced to 1/24th scale for the Mongram company's plastic model kits.

The Batmobile had a cameo in "Rock Star" with Mark Wahlburg. The car was customized by George Barris who also built the Munster Koach for the TV show. |

Dean Jeffries was my first "artist" hero named Dean, his custom car designs have become iconic - a true genius.

...to the Batmobile!
![]() .
![]() ![]() would love the real thing of course, the car is a customised Lincoln Futura made for the 1960's TV series, would have a lot of fun at CarFests and make a few bob as a Wedding car

one of my favorite cars
![]() and it has a ULEV rating ![]() ![]() I would buy one of these over their European counter parts and beats them on the track and by cost. |

My favorite sports car has always been the Corvette, even before the T-Bird added a back seat.
I would have to flip a coin between a red '62 or the black early 70s model that Chris Tucker drove in the Rush Hour movies.

An American/Asian centered list, which doesn't do much for me: http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1701729_1701728,00.html
It says Toyota Corolla was the car that sold the most ever, but I knew this distinction went to the Opel Kadett. Wikipedia doesn't confirm this but I heard the information in a Discovery documentary so that must mean something. This is much more interesting: http://www.time.com/time/specials/2007/article/0,28804,1658545_1657686,00.html |

American Graffitti is a good example of what it was like.
I forgot to mention that music was a big part of cruising. In the winter you would have your heater on high so you could keep your windows down and your music loud (tape decks, not the radio).
Are You Experienced was a popular cruising tape but I think Time Has Come Today by The Chambers Bros was the most popular individual song. Edited by GaryB - December 14 2010 at 10:38 |
