They're the absolute best in their genre, which is "Braindead Hard Rock". Give me an example for a better band IN THEIR GENRE, I'm really curious
|
A norwegian band called turbonegro is better but infact i would rather listen to a madonna song before i ever listened to a ac/dc album ever again.
Anyways it is hard to compare these bands because they all sound the same like forexample saxon and accept and thin lizzy they sound exxactly the same and i cant stand any one them.
But anyways why are the ac/dc fans posting here

I love a good fight ...
By the way: Accept is miles away from Saxon. Saxon is miles away from AC/DC. Thin Lizzy is lightyears away from all of the above.

Well i got one saxon cd and one accept cd and i think they sound quite the same its all about cool riff rock and roll wich is a genre i despise. But anyway if you like that kind of genre i will perhaps advice ac/dc as they are the best blues based hard rock band on earth.( Hate to admit that) Got three albums back in black, highway to hell and razors edge + a dvd called live at donigton 91 wich is IMO the best ac/dc collection.
Anyways when i say i hate a band i always get people that like it in my thread and when i say i like a band i always get people that hate it to answer

That's the idea of such threads or forums in general, isn't it?
Your collection is nice, but you might want to give Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap or High Voltage a spin (or If You Want Blood ... it sums up the early songs & vibe quite nicely). They're quite different from their later albums.

Have to object once more: I'm not 100% sure on Saxon, but Accept definitely are Metal, not Rock. I think they're closer to Iron Maiden, than to AC/DC.

Yep defintly the bon scott era is better than the brian johnson era but anyays as said before i dont particulary like ac/dc and i just got so many other cds to buy but yeah i have hard dirty deeds and its fairly decent and even more bluesy that the other albums. Like "the jack" But anyways i prefer pure blues music instead of blues hard rock stuff. In that case stevie ray vaughan is exxcellent. And by the way have you heard the song called "Love song" by ac/dc never offically released and the only true ballad ac/dc got...fun stuff

I don't object to that post
Being a guitar player, I dig SRV.
I've never heard "Love song" by AC/DC, I don't think that I'd want to hear an AC/DC ballad either

An all time classic. At the moment it annoys me because some Counter Strike: Source server admins like to play it mid-battle, so it plays simultaneously with whatever my winamp is playing.

Well, what about Status Quo , they don't even have brains to be dead in. To me they are in the same braindead genre (Rock 'n' Roll)

I think that Status Quo are Rock, whereas AC/DC progressed towards Hard Rock/Heavy Rock. I'm by no means saying that they're progressive as in "progressive rock"

In an earlier post I described AC/DC as good party music, well, Status Quo is far beyond that. I have to be REALLY drunk to appreciate them. Give me Motorhead any time.

While I agree that most of their stuff sounds the same, they do have a
few songs that stand out as being very different (i.e. Hells Bells,
Thunderstruck, about half of the Highway to Hell album, etc.). I really
like some of their stuff, although there is quite a bit of crap. My
favorite song would have to be "Walk All Over You" from Highway to
Hell, it has some great almost prog-like temo shifts.
