Due to connection issues, I had to re-type all entries, and I just noticed that I skipped King Diamond in my second attempt to post this poll...Believe me, he was in the draft of this poll...

Where is King Diamond?!!

Voted for Michael Kiske. Though I don't know many of them...

Hell yes. Killers was awesome too.
They flutter behind you your possible pasts,
Some bright-eyed and crazy, some frightened and lost.

Yes you can. Another vote for you, Menawati, for preferring Di'anno over Dickinson. My favorite Maiden album? The first.

Dickinson. He's very cool, and I think his voice got kinda better with age.

I'd have to say Bruce Dickinson from the list. Then again what I like about him has little to do with his vocals.
Outside the list Oyvind Haegeland or that guy from Protest the Hero.

Oop - I changed my mind to Geoff Tate at the last moment. His singing spins in my head more often.

Where's Dio? I would've voted for him...

Actually, I'd still have voted for Ian - but not for his work in Deep Purple.

My favorite would be classic Geoff Tate, EP thru O:M.

Probably the 'best' on that list in his prime was Midnight from Crimson Glory.

Crimson Glory was not a 'hair band', but they probably have the record for most hair of any band Tongue

Place Vendome have also a second album, some think it's better than the first, I think they are both equally worth. A song from this album that has a strong TOTO influence (especially the intro) :
The keyboardist is Günther Werno from Vanden Plas.

I read somewhere that Michael refused the offer the first he was proposed to replace Kai on vocals because he didn't like the music Helloween played (it was speed/thrash before he joined). After second proposal, he accepted and kind of softened Helloween's music, giving it a more melodic direction. The albums 'bubble' and 'chameleon' show that he is rather eclectic and open-minded, and that metal is far from being "his cup". At some point, he wanted to throw away the metal label, and released an album of acoustic songs. The complete opposite of Kai Hansen !
