whats w/ all the hate???

dude, your music is no better than AC/DC...and im sure there are plenty of AC/DC fans that would say your music sucks, and theres not a damn thing you could say to back up your point of view.  there is not a SINGLE THING about your music or the music i listen to or the music anyone else on this forum listens to that makes it better than AC/DC.  its MUSIC!!!!  for crying out loud, give it a rest, just go enjoy your music and stop being so negative.  chill the F out.

Does anyone actually enjoy the voices of AC/DC's singer, whoever he is?

I don't really enjoy Tom Waits as a singer, but his voice is a perfect match for the music. It's the same with Bon Scott / AC/DC. Can't get used to Brian Johnson though.

Yeah, yeah, yeah

where old songs go to die

In England, it was used in a "Celebrity Wrestling" advert. I never once saw that programme, and luckily it was cancelled after only a few shows. There's some real cr@p on tv. It's annoying the way some adverts use music to plug their wares. Forever after, it conjures that advert. If a person who hasn't heard the song before listens to it, they think "Oh, it's this song!" Is that a good thing?

Good one! Kind of a cyber-lightning rod to protect the rest of the forum. Although I think some of the lightning got through to the "Why isn't prog popular?" thread.

And not all of their songs sound the same. Some of their songs is actually quite different from each other.

I don't like them at all. Like classic rock in general, I want nothing to do with AC/DC.

Simple music, stupid lyrics, every album built on the same formula, a guitarist who uses the same chords and riffs over and over, start career as a small time Aussie band, gain world acclaim and millions of record sales, an active career that spans generations.

hmm.. I wouldn't mind a career like that.

Think of it as junk food for the ears.

Sometimes you want a multicourse gourmet meal and sometimes you just want a fastfood burger and chips (fries... crisps)  Sometimes you want to drink fine wine and listen to complex music, brilliant virtuoso playing with beautiful, breathtaking nuances... and sometimes you want to have a few beers and shake your butt to something loud and mindless.

One cannot live on white bread alone. (or whatever the saying is)

This goes for the whole "Punk vs. Prog" crap discussions that rear its ugly head in these forums.

"they locked up a man who wanted to rule the world.
the fools
they locked up the wrong man."
- Leonard Cohen
