Ah, I presumed you hadn't turned up.  We kept looking for you though.  You did miss an excellent gig though and I hope one of us three can review it.  I need to get a setlist first though.

Cry even more unhappy that I couldn't make it now - I hate it when life gets in the way of prog.

However, glad you guys had a great time - Can we expect to see an appropriately enthusiastic review soon?
What?

I have returned from a very memorable gig!  Riverside were brilliant!  It's the second best gig of the year so far!  The accolade of best gig goes to VdGG though.

Wow!

Nice work guys.

It was also great to meet Jared and Andy, they are exactly as expected.

I have noticed one thing though... VdGG fans seem to follow me around!  There was one at a Gov't Mule gig, one who is a friend of someone I know, who I met at a gig and there was even one there last night.

Have you checked down the back of the sofa?

I'm off for a couple of beers and a curry. Could be a bit stinky in here tomorrow, I apologise in advance.

I was reliably informed they played a panoply of tunes from different albums.  I only recognised two of them, mind you.  The one they finished on reminded me of Nickleback though, which kind of scares me!

Actually, the best tracks they did, were the last ones of the night, including one with acoustic guitars.

Mine will be a Hoegarden. Wink

LOL Sounds like they played a lot of recent material. The old stuff is much better than that. Then again, what do you expected from a band that won TMF's European Music Award? (Knowing that TMF is the Dutch MTV subsidiary).

Cheers mate, have a beer on me!

I've yet to find two websites with the same lyrics to Wuthering heights.LOL  I just grabbed the one with the fewest spelling mistakes.

Bad dreams in the night
You told me I was going to lose the fight,
Leave behind my wuthering, wuthering
Wuthering Heights.

Heathcliff, it's me, your Cathy, I've come home. I´m so cold,

Heathcliff, it's me, your Cathy, I've come home. I´m so cold,

Ooh, it gets dark! It gets lonely,
On the other side from you.
I pine a lot. I find the lot
Falls through without you.
I'm coming back, love,
Cruel Heathcliff, my one dream,
My only master.

Too long I roamed in the night.
I'm coming back to his side, to put it right.
I'm coming home to wuthering, wuthering,
Wuthering Heights,

Heathcliff, it's me, your Cathy, I've come home. I'm so cold,

Let me grab your soul away.

According to a website, those lyrics are incorrect....

WUTHERING HEIGHTS

Out on the wiley, windy moors
We'd roll and fall in green
You had a temper, like my jealousy
Too hot, too greedy
How could you leave me
When I needed to possess you?
I hated you, I loved you too
Bad dreams in the night
They told me I was going to lose the fight
Leave behind my wuthering, wuthering
Wuthering Heights

Heathcliff, it's me, oh Cathy come home
I'm so cold, let me in your window
Heathcliff, it's me, oh Cathy come home
I'm so cold, let me in your window

Oh it gets dark, it gets lonely
On the other side from you
I pine a lot, I find the lot
Falls through without you
I'm coming back love, cruel Heathcliff
My one dream, my only master
Too long I roam in the night
I'm coming back to his side to put it right
I'm coming home to wuthering, wuthering
Wuthering Heights

Heathcliff, it's me, oh Cathy come home

I always think of Sir Harry Webb when I read "Heathcliff", as well as the lyrics to the childrens cartoon, "Heathcliff".

A classic that song is, but Babushka is better!

The wanderer has returned (no, not a certain Bolton Wanderer...) and is ever so tired, despite sleeping well last night.

Withering Temptation were erm... not bad.

The 69 Eyes were erm... terrible.  I have nothing again that sort of music, but I couldn't stop laughing at them.  The way they dressed for one, the way the vocalist span round on the spot every five minutes and the annoying style of the drummer, which really annoyed me.  I couldn't hear the vocals either.

They basically sounded like a camp Sisters of Mercy, mixed with a camp The Cult, with a bit of BOC mixed in too.  Meh.  I do like some Sisters of Mercy, but meh, not The 69 Eyes way.  I was trying to decide how they could make their set any camper than it already was.

As I said, Withering Temptation were not bad... although I swear I saw Sharon den Adel's lips stop moving and her vocals continuing... but maybe that was just me...  Every song sounded the same, mind you. LOL

Heavy Intro
Sharon singing, slow down of music
Heavy bit

Overly long heavy bit and outtro...

Ad Nauseum.

That was it, for almost every song!  I knew exactly when the heavy bits were coming.

Hmm.

I did enjoy it though.  I even got to meet up with my mate Mark (and his mate, who I've forgotten the name of), who crept to the front and met Nicky and I there (we were in the front row, after all).

I have Nightwish to look forward to in March, woo!

Oh and talking of Kate Bush, I started singing Heathcliffe and Babushka whilst queuing up.  Yes, I'm mad.  I am not sure what prompted this.  Maybe I had a telekinetic mind-spasm that keyed me into the GRoom current conversation?

Painful death first, then expulsion as it's also in the small print that dead people aren't allowed to be members of PA.
