Besides the fact that he's an all around terrible drummer, this guy is obviously the biggest douchecannon in rock.

He honestly believes that even if you pay for his music, you shouldn't be allowed to do what you want with it.  Bought the CD?  great!  want to listen to it on your mp3 player?  you have to buy it again!  no copying of your own music!  take that video off youtube!  dont you know no one is paying to see it???  we're going to starve!

Some bands (i.e. NIN, Radiohead) have realized that being famous means you can make tons of money by essentially giving away the music for free.  Metallica thinks you should have to pay for every Metallica experience, no matter how insignificant.  The arrogance astounds me.

It's certainly one thing to expect to get paid for the work you put into your music, but Lars goes out of his way to show that he's really only in it for the money.  A song isn't an emotional release, it's a business investment.

+1
Completely agree with you.
The saddest part is knowing he really was into it for the love of back when the band were in their musical prime from 1981 to 1989.
As much as Dave Mustaine was sometimes full of sh*t and said some pretty harsh things, at least I can respect him for having way more integrity than Lars.
Mustaine would always admit his second guitarist in his band, no matter what the line up was, could run rings around him in the lead guitar field and he still does, which shows some degree of humbleness in him.
Even in Megadeth's most commercial sounding stuff, their was still always this element to it that showed he wasn't completely in it for the money, it's hard to explain, but it's a vibe lacking in say, Load, Reload and St Anger.
For example, Youthanasia had A Tout Le Monde on it, but despite it's melodic bent, you can feel every ounce of Mustaine's heart and soul in that song.

From the list, Axl Rose. Of all the stories I've heard about this guy, ugh. He seems like the most annoying also.

Not from the list, Yngwie Malmsteen. Dear lord, the guy has a ego bigger than his belly and is a complete ass. Just watch some of his "instructional" videos on YouTube. "Well, uh, if you knew... music theory, I wouldn't even have to tell you this... uh". Angry

+1 On Malmsteen.
I saw him live in 2006, he pulled an amazing array of "I'M GOD" facial expressions when he performed , but if anything, even if he does the talk, he can do the walk I guess.

Did anyone hear the Yngwie on the airline story?

Apparently a passenger or steward accidentally spilled a drink on him and he stood up and said (while continuing to try and look like Ritchie Blackmoore) "YOU'VE UNLEASHED THE f**kING FURY!"

Would you like a solo with that? LOL
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Ted Nugent.  Way too much ego for such little talent.

Already knew the answer was Axl before opening the thread, so since he was a choice, I voted him.  Otherwise I would've gone for Simmons.

"Yngwie, why do you scallop your frets"?

"Because... it makes me a better player" In his stuck up accent.

I heard Yngwie replaced his penis with a guitar so people can pay to watch him masturbate (Old STC joke). Seriously he is a real dick.

Lars wins, but I think Dee Schnieder deserves a spot.
