I could waste time posting a reasoned critique, but I feel that anyone who perceives rush as producing unimpeachable masterworks, would fail to appreciate it.

 thus, and therefore, I decline.

Probably Hemispheres or Permanent Waves.

But those released afterwards are still great, just less proggy, IMO.

Definitely going to make it a mission to obtain all their albums (I need like 10 more lol).

I could waste time posting a reasoned critique, but I feel that anyone who perceives you as producing unimpeachable posts would fail to appreciate it.

Thus, I decline ("and therefore" is a redundancy, dingus).

(PS- you also f**ked up by using a comma after "masterworks").

yes brain trusts, the redundancy was put there by design.

I detect that the skulls might be a little thick and require a reenforced message.

That you thought it was an accident, an oversight, a mistake, a blooper, proves my point.

 Don't it. Clap

I am curious, what other groups are beloved by Rush worshipers ?

I'm wondering if there's a pattern or if it's an anomaly.

It's an anomaly, and many Rush fans also like classic rock, hard rock, Top 40, metal, Prog--  the thing is, I agree with most of the superficial criticism of the band; Lee's voice is, or was, amusingly high, but then so is Jon Anderson's;  They have released numerous substandard albums, but then so has Genesis;  They can be formulaic, but so was Pink Floyd by the late 80s.   Rush has committed the cardinal rock 'n roll sin of surviving, completely in tact, well past the normal shelf life and consequently have probably produced too much music.

I've personally never considered them prog- maybe proggy hard rock. That doesn't make them bad in any way- though I'm definitely not their biggest fan. @Procolwho?... um just chillz the f**k out....

And procolwho isn't going to stop posting. I doubt if he's ever gotten bored of his, ahem, intelligent observations.

I'd agree with that.
I've liked Rush since 1976 and never really thought of them as prog per se.
Mostly they played rush music - and that definition changed & evolved through the 80s, 90s and to now.

I've enjoyed some periods/albums more than others but they reward a little investment of time and thought.

That's correct. They are not prog. They are hair band rock.

And if I didn't say the Emperor had no clothes, you'd have never gotten the chance to express your real feelings.

 You're welcome.

After 2,112 albums, 2,112 tours, 2,112 weeks of being together......they are very Progressive. But in my book, I could care less about them being "labeled" progressive, proggy, prog......hogwash.

The bottom line is that the brilliance, artistry and magic that is Rush....continues.
