I saw this earlier. Extremely sad. I loved The Goodies when I was young, and it is a shame it isn’t repeated.

There is a fine box set available on Amazon, but it has a price tag. Worth it though.

^I've seen him on At Last The 1948 Show (pre-Python) with Cleese, Chapman, et al.  Funny show.  Never seen Goodies though.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

A very sad bit of news, he was also superb and long term contributor to 'Sorry I haven't a clue' often with his old Goodies mate Graham Garden (Dr). RIP Timbo

They did put a couple of shows on the BBC a couple of years ago along with a documentary about the Goodies- I know Bill Oddie wasn't too keen on them being shown, feeling they were very much of their time both in humour and in their political satire (which was stronger and more pointed than id remembered). I adored the Goodies in the 70's but after seeing those episodes and documentary i felt their place is best there and in my memory. I do love the 'up north' take on Kung Fu with Ekky Thump, the increasingly large flat caps, and 'meditating midst t' oriental fragrances' (sitting in the outside loo with the 'Airwick' pulled upLOLLOLLOL

LOLLOL Yes, happy memories, but perhaps you are right in terms of the Goodies humour being of its time. Mind you, so is a lot of Python, although it is probably heresy to say soShocked

I absolutely agree with you about “Sorry I Haven’t Clue”. He, and it, were superb right until the present day.

I don’t know about you, but we find Radio 4 a haven at the moment.

Absolutely agree regarding Python though I still love it (for similar-but not the same- reasons as the Goodies) and yes, we do listen to a lot of radio 4 for news, information and distraction - have been using the BBC sounds a lot to revisit Comedy, documentaries and dramas..

As if the recent losses of legendary African musicians wasn't enough, we must now bid farewell to Africa 70 drummer Tony Allen. RIP to the GOAT

I'm a man in my late 50's so don't use the word 'Awesome' like most younger people.. In fact i hardly ever use it and when I do it means I am in total absolute awe of him as a drummer and I cannot think of a more fitting descriptive adjective when I hear him play. RIP Tony

Sorry for my apparent allusion to your comment before. Actually when I wrote that what you had written somehow wasn't in my brain and surely I didn't want to diminish your wording, I just coincidentally wrote it like this.

Apparently a certain Mr Wakeman was one of his two big influences.
