Barbara! Nice! A true phenom. I like Hot Stuff, That's Me and Junkanoo the best (out of what I have, I've fallen way behind). She's to jazz organ what Hiromi, many years later, has become to jazz piano.

It used to be Keith Emerson for the longest time, but within the past couple months I've been leaning more toward Tony Banks. He's my pick.

Gotta give an honorable mention to Hugh Banton too. Maybe not the most virtuosic, but he's the ultimate team player/multitasker musician I can think of. He adds so much texture and content to the mix it's like he cloned himself. Watching him live is a mind-f***. I'm kinda sad he hasn't received more recognition.

Hugh Banton is a virtuoso; he just does not flash it like Emerson or Wakeman.

Kerry Minnear all the way. I am a Gentle Giant fanboy so what do you expect?

And a list of Key players I admire who haven't been mentioned yet:

Jan Hammer
Don Preston
Tommy Mars
Roger Hodgson

The absolutely incredible Agostino Macor of Hostsonaten/La Maschera di Cera/Zaal !

A vintage keyboard master
I never post anything anywhere without doing more than basic research, often in depth.

Dave Greenslade, if only for Valentyne Suite........but what an album, and man that hammond organ is smoking throughout.

As always, Dave Stewart will be my fave - but there are just soooo many great keyboardists/synthesists.
......Wonder why there's no mention of Roger Powell ??  He just blitz's it, whether it be prog Utopia or pop Utopia, or his solo work - tremendous.
