Am I the only one who like Circus of Heaven? The first time I heard that song I thought it was great. I also like the entire Tormato album, and after listening to it I came to the archives to see what others thought, and I was surprised how much hate it receives.

No, I think Tormato is a fine album too, different to what Yes was doing before, but absolutely not bad.

Here's a few off the top of my head.

Jethro Tull - Under Wraps     (Symbolises what went wrong in the eighties, IMO Disco Folk is not a good genre to aim for)

Peter Hammil - Magog         (Why taint a beautiful album by such a random lengthy virtually unlistenable inclusion?)

ELP - Benny the Bouncer     (When the vocals come in, this song it makes me want to cut my ears off)

Pink Floyd - On the run        (I suppose it might have been new at the time, but I have always hated this song for it's lack of ,well, being a song)

Transatlantic - Charlotte Suite Pike    (It takes cheesy to a whole new level)

I have to take you to task re Under Wraps i.e. the song, more correctly 2 songs; Under Wraps #1 and Under Wraps #2, both of which in my opinion are in fact fabulous songs. The dissing of Under Wraps in general is actually "getting on my goat", which is an old Australian expression that means "p*ssing me orf"!

I think the problem I have with Tormato isn't that it is a dreadful album, but that expectations were so high after a brilliant run of albums that is was a real letdown. I'm sure the band felt the same way if you read their various comments. Howe and Wakeman seem to be having a private battle to see who can play the most notes in any particular song!

Negative treads should be banned, trowing dirt on what others like ? What is the point of that.
In a otherwise ok debate, it's hard not to show you affections and the opposite, but as main focus of a tread, finding the prog you hate the most, I don't see the point.

Tool's Aenema comes to mind for catastrophe songs, and Godspeed You Black Emperor feels like a soundtrack to the apocalypse.

That may be so, yes.
Nice album, but indeed, such a range of masterpieces before that one.
