Well as usually, my tastes change everyday... today I'm really into
RED

Good to see that I've created a hot topic so quickly!
I'm actually taking a break from KC today and spinning my new(but used)
vinyl copy of Selling England By The Pound. It's awesome! Never knew
Genesis could be so cool...
Anyway, keep discussing!

sorry i just find myself listening to islands more than the others

Starless and Bible Black. This sole album convinced me this was the best Prog band ever.
Second, Islands.
Third, In the Court...

So many of their records have so much to recommend them... each has moments that people will be listening to and analyzing 1000 years from now. We should all feel very lucky to be around to share our time on Earth with a certain, very smart guy who also happens to be one of the greatest guitar players (musicians, even) ever to walk the planet in any era
hey, you! put that camera away! don't make me come down there!
As far as a favorite, it's a tough choice, but as far as lasting impact on my head I'd have to say
 stunning, even 33 years later

Will I ever say the debut is their best?? No! Never!
Larks Tongues In Aspic!!
When it comes to King Crimson in particular, I really don't like to say which are the best and worst etc. because for various obvious reasons, They never stayed the same! Good thing too, So my favourites are -
- Larks Tongues In Aspic
- Islands
- Lizard
- Red
- In the Court of the Crimson King
Haven't heard much of the later Crimson, But I am surely lookin' forward too.

The two with Greg Lake remain my favorite, although all of their albums up through RED are great. I don't like any or their work since. Lake is perhaps my all time favorite vocalist too.

Of the albums I have:
- In The Court Of The Crimson King
- The Power To Believe
- Thrak
I'm getting Lizard soon, and holy crap do I ever much want "The Night
Watch" (live). I've tried ordering it but it's hard to get... on
Amazon's it's only with new&used, at CD universe they're still
backordering it and it's labeled "Sold Out" on Discipline Global
Mobile. Goddammit.
