A bit cheesy but Dream Theater's 'The Spirit carries on' uplifts me

And the guitar solo on 'Firth of Fifth' is divine...

Nice thread.

Uh, thanks. And maybe if people would stop calling me a troll that would happen sooner rather than later...Wink

I guess I need to explain: I started the Roxy fascination 3 weeks BEFORE the debut was released to the public in 1972 through a friend who picked up promo copies at EG records. I consider Roxy a seperate entity from my prog adoration because Roxy is an EXTREMELY personal relationship that would be hard for me to briefly explain. I wrote Ferry a recent letter explaining that synergy with his craft and I am leery even to review any Roxy album because of the emotions involved. I never mix my pleasure with my pain (whip whip) hahaha

Mmm...spiritual eh ? Well as daft as this sounds:

'Golden Hair' and 'Terrapin' by Syd Barrett give me a flock of goosebumps every time - if God was singing while vacuuming, he might sound like this

'Groon' by King Crimson on the Earthbound album - the last few seconds of the record with just Fripp's guitar always make me shiver with other worldly delight

'Musical Box' by Genesis when Gabriel sings 'Why don't you touch me etc' always makes me think that divine providence might actually exist somewhere

'Time' by Pink Floyd has lyrics that bypass all conventional intellectual barriers and makes me weep openly

It's not very progressive, but I have to say Within You Without by the Beatles. It changed my entire perception of spirituality. And introduced me to sitar, which is cool.Smile
