I enjoy 6 of them. The other two, Phideaux and Anekdoten, are good but I've heard only one work from each of them so can't say. Of the other 6 I have pretty much all their studio albums (except Marillion from which I have about 7)

6 out of 8.......I don't have any Phideaux (so it could be 7 of 8)......but for sure that would be the limit as I do not like Opeth......except for the last album.....so maybe 7.5 of 8 Big smile.

I do not find it unbelievable that anybody on this site has a list of what they want to check out.  I have one myself.  I would be surprised at anybody here who didn't have one.  Aren't we all just a little bit obsessive that way?

I think most people here don't have an actual word document with band names, but maybe I am wrong. I can tell you that I don't.

I have a Word document with band names, countries of origin, album titles and year of release.

If not for it I would have a hard time remembering what I have!  My memory is so bad sometimes...

I voted 6 of 8.  Not familiar with Phideaux, and not a fan of Spock's Beard (even though I do own three of their albums).

Marillion, PT, DT, Anekdoten, Spock's Beard. I like like the other bands too, but they really don't add up or compare to the ones I just listed. Also I'm not really that familiar with Phiadeux either.

None (0) of these groups has a single album which rates among my personal all-time favorites; only two (2) of these eight (8) groups has any albums that I enjoy (Porcupine Tree's Fear of a Blank Planet and Lightbulb Sun and Anekdoten's Waking the Dead, Live in Japan 2005)!!!

5 out of 8.

I have not yet heard Phideaux, Riverside, or Anekdoten.

Favorites would be DT as 1st and Marillion as 2nd.

All of them to varying degrees.  Of the bunch, Phideaux is by far my favorite, but I also really dig Spock's Beard, Porcupine Tree and Marillion.  I've only heard a little bit of Anekdoten, but what I've heard I like.  I only have one Opeth album and perhaps that is all I will ever own - Heritage, which I think is excellent and wish they'd do this style of music more often.  I like some of DT's stuff, Awake probably being my favorite, with Scenes a close second.  Haven't been into much of their stuff since Octavarium.
I can understand your anger at me, but what did the horse I rode in on ever do to you?

7 out of 8. The whole competition pretty much reflects my taste in prog, so I don't know whether I should be flattered or sad, since voting like a majority in essence just means being 'the average prog fan'.

Um, anyways, I should give Anekdoten more playtime, maybe I'll discover their appeal. I have got used to Phideaux pretty well, although I have to consume it selectively not to become bored.
All the best freaks are here, please stop staring at me. Marillion - Freaks (1988).

I voted all of them.  I'm not a fan of Opeth's growling but I love them musically and I love their non-growling songs.
