I hate to to have to go with Dream Theater, but Riverside can't hold my attention at all
|

I like the Riverside that I've heard, but I've grown up listening to Dream Theater.

Riverside for me! I really like Dream Theater, but they're starting to get a bit paint by numbers lately. IMO they always sound the same(with the exception of Train of Thought that goes ferociously from beginning to end). DT really needs to try different stuff. I think with their talent they could be a killer symphonic prog band. |
We dont need another Transatlantic.

We don't need a Dream Theater either, though. Plenty of those around!

At least half the PM genre has to be Dream Theater clones... I was amazed by the sheer volume of their numbers...

I think they should switch to chamber rock, personally. Or acid folk.

We don't need another DT album, really. Unless, they decide to change things up a bit or go with a different vocalist altogether.

Or talk to Rush about a Time Machine.
Throw 'em all in there, and ask them not to be so 1 dimensional.

This is close but it's that atmosphere and Duda's warm vocals that give RIVERSIDE the edge.
