Never Mind The 27 Club

Which musicians died at the age of 26 or 28?  The so-called "27 Club" is a pile of poo, let's prove it by listing musicians that died at ages other than 27 (and let's list them by age at death)

The first to pop up in my mind is Nick Drake (26).

It's particularly hard to avoid the validity of the 27 Club when your favorite musician (Helmut Koellen) is unfortunately a member. A sad time to depart.

Also, do believers in the 27 Club hope and pray that their least favourites artistes survive well beyond that age.  Lady Gaga is 27 until late March next year, for example - you want her in your club?

Meanwhile, which is 'cooler' - great musicians dying aged 27, or great musicians making great music for many years after that age? 

I may be a bit late for the party and somewhat out of the question, but doesn't the appelation "Club of 27" refer to SOME musicians which death had been a trauma in the history of rock?
For years, I heard that the Club of 27 included: Brian Jones, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Jim Morrisson. End of the list, end of the story.
Not only there were only 4 musicians included in this macabre "chosen few", but they died between 1969 and 1971, like a totemic warning: "The 60's are closed, get off, go back to work, nothing more to see".

THEN, some few musicians were added: Kurt Cobain and... Huh, yeah, Amy Winehouse, appearing like the last ones of a breed born to die as shooting stars and symbols of... Well, the excesses of Sex, Drugs, Rock'n'Roll and God only knows what stupid legend about Rock'n'Roll that could be added to this tryptich.
