In the last couple of years, I've seen a lot less respect for the OPs on the PA forum, so I'd like to hear your opinion about whether respecting is still important.

We should not only respect the OP but comments that don't align with ours. In my six years on PA I have noticed more bickering and some knowledgeable people have left.

I've noticed some members don't read the OP, just the thread title and respond.

One would have to see if the OP wrote a good (comprehensible, sensible & sensitive) post in the first place.

TBH, I haven't really noticed that negative trend here, but then again, the whole web is getting more aggressive... and I don't think PA or PE are open war zones, especially since the political/religious ban some 8 months ago.

As for the need to choose a thread title carefuly.

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

I know what you mean. There's a couple of members over here, who have a tendency to drift off to a toxic political tangent from time to time 🍐

Typical of all online conversation. Everyone is talking, very few listening. Same with albums and songs and the thousands upon thousands of releases yearly. In one ear out the other. I was reading Fripps last few diary entries and tried to find a reason to understand the “why” of it all. Like the endless you tube vids posted on this site. Noise, no solid grip. It’s where the world is at… information overload. We should all go fishing or backpacking.

Post of the year. Absolutely spot on. Humanity will one day disappear up an arse of its own making, and film itself doing so.

Did you think I wouldn't notice your passive-aggressive reference?

You're getting very close to a suspension if not a permanent ban, and have been for some time now.
