I would classify them "canterbury/jazz-fusion/RIO" rather than "art-rock". BTW is what you call art-rock what some call "hard-prog", a subgenre of prog that gathers groups such as King Crimson, VDGG, Anekdoten, i.e. prog with dark (hence the term "hard") moods ?
