Definitely Mostly Autumn. I like the Passengers album, but The Last Bright Light is probably more autumnal.

I'm surprised The Tea Club's first album hasn't been mentioned yet.  One track in particular, called "Will O' the Wisp," sounds to me like the epitome of autumn.  There's an MP3 sample of it here on PA, if you're interested.

Also worth mentioning is Big Big Train's album Gathering Speed.  Here's an excerpt:
"I am the one who crossed through space...or stayed where I was...or didn't exist in the first place...."

For some reason, I get a strong sense of late autumn from Anekdoten's Vemod. Dunno why.

Genesis's Selling England by the Pound
Porcupine Tree's In Absentia
Opeth's Blackwater Park, Still Life, Morningrise, Damnation

I got into them all back in autumn 2005 so any time I listen to them it just sort of takes me back to that cold season...

It's still autumn so I'll offer my suggestions Tongue

You could try "Spectral Mornings" by Steve Hackett, "Si on Avait..." by Harmonium, "Ommadawn" by Mike Oldfield, "Gentle Giant" by Gentle Giant, "Trespass" by Genesis...

Those are the ones that come to mind.

Porcupine Tree's Up the Downstair has this sort of vibe, I feel like.  I also know you like electronic music, which this album is somewhat influenced by.

yeah and the album it's from. "Hero and Heroine", is like putting Autumn on a platter.  No brainer, with chilling songs like "Sad Young Man".  Even "Shine on Silver Sun" has a delightful shiver to it, and "Midnight Sun" is another great seasonal tune.  Did I mention "Out in the Cold"?

Do not buy their album.

I didn't notice the Pentacle suggestion, just the Pentangle one.  I rather like the Pentacle album, but much prefer The Pentangle.

I like the Pentacle alot, but not sure it's what the poster is looking for anyway.   Actually that Pentacle album is one of the few "French theatrical school" albums I can stomach.  I think it was produced by the guy from Ange, but for me is much more palatable than Ange

Speaking of French theatrical prog, though it isn't the kind of autumnal prog that Alan is looking for, Halloween is coming up which is a good time for some Arachnoid.
Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

Morte Macabre - Symphonic Holocaust seems like Autumnal prog to me.
Horror movie themes with excess use of mellotrons and yearning guitar licks.

not prog, but Bon Iver's For Emma, Forever Ago is great for what you're looking for.
