Really?? How about your show 'The Ten Worst Prog Albums Ever' with four additional guests. Y'all slam Yes "Union" and KC "Beat". I like those albums.
(function(){function c(){var b=a.contentDocument||a.contentWindow.document;if(b){var d=b.createElement('script');d.innerHTML="window.__CF$cv$params={r:'91b1ec1329840949',t:'MTc0MTA5NzA2MC4wMDAwMDA='};var a=document.createElement('script');a.nonce='';a.src='/cdn-cgi/challenge-platform/scripts/jsd/main.js';document.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(a);";b.getElementsByTagName('head')[0].appendChild(d)}}if(document.body){var a=document.createElement('iframe');a.height=1;a.width=1;a.style.position='absolute';a.style.top=0;a.style.left=0;a.style.border='none';a.style.visibility='hidden';document.body.appendChild(a);if('loading'!==document.readyState)c();else if(window.addEventListener)document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded',c);else{var e=document.onreadystatechange||function(){};document.onreadystatechange=function(b){e(b);'loading'!==document.readyState&&(document.onreadystatechange=e,c())}}}})();< height="1" width="1" style=": ; top: 0px; left: 0px; border: none; visibility: ;">

Touche!!! In my defense, I did not "review" those albums...

^ Just mentioned them rather than critiqued them in your video, or very minimal assessment...? By the way, are you seeing the script in your posts? It can be hard to read and suggest you disable the forum's WYSIWYG post editor in your control panel settings. See HERE (click)

^^When you state "Beat" is the same album as "Discipline" and you hate it, and there is nothing about it you like, that in my world is a "review".

Neal Morse has been writing the same album for years, does that make them bad albums?

Lack of originality can potentially make them worse over time, meaning only a select few artists have the balls to branch out and grow these days (Hi, Luke Bryan, meet ZACH BRYAN).  But some artists still make them enjoyable.  What matters is if you can still deliver new ideas within your limited genre constraints.  I don't find myself excited for any new Neal Morse albums, but I never consider the idea that they'll be bad at all.  In fact, I even found the much later Sola Scriptura to be better than ? or One or Testimony for light expansion into metal territories without betraying the general Neal Morse sound, doing more in its 75 minutes than ? did in an hour.  Probably the best Christian rock album I've ever heard.

I like to think of ToaPP, Beat, Disciplne as a three record set. lol. Fripp should make a cool box to slide the three into.

I checked his discography and he (Morse) has been churning out albums like a running faucet.
No time to re-group and get over the last albums sounds and ideas? Always Forging ahead...

I suppose it's easy to fall into comfortable sameness without a long break from one's own music.
I think that's a bit like the way ToaPP, Beat, and Discipline drained the Discipline/KC Idea bucket, and so RF called it quits for a bit to re-invent KC once again.  It's all great music but sameness is not good.  Sometimes I feel that even Steven Wilson is stuck in a rut, but he often surprises.  TOOL also has been making the same record over and over to my ears.

At least Tool were pushing metal into some interesting areas. I suppose it's slightly ironic then that Danny Carey is part of that band playing 80's KC with Steve Vai, Adrian Belew and Tony Levin.

Hi,

My thoughts were, are, that for all the talent they supposedly have .... it's all a rehash of things that have already been done. I would have expected some new stuff by them, and instead? I don't think I would spend a nickel here, for the invisible talent ... that supposedly shows by redoing KC ... not buying that for a minute!
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!

I did not remove the review and I noticed several hateful comments about my review on the artists Facebook page.

Have any other reviewers had this happen to them?

this happened to me three times during the early years of the site.

One member of the Flying Luttenbachers was fairly insulting, implying I didn't understand the music, to which I agreed with him and admitted so in my reviews The stop his vehemence (he wouldn't let up), I menaced him to borrow more FL albums from the library and review them. He dropped the matter quickly.

The leader of Hamster Theatre was much nicer, sayioing that it was too bad I didn't like accordian, so he didn't insist and said goodbye gently.

The worst was Me Dale Hauskins , who was angry at my Flame Dream reviews He played on two albums as a guest (not fll member) and he was busy trying to promote those albums beyond reasonable  reasons. The dude was also an arsehole on Prog Ears.

It's not the same album really. He has developed a particular style (and of course a quite narrow range of topics), sure, but there are noticeable differences between the albums and they're on a really high level musically. Having said that, it's not for everybody of course.
