Talk about music to slash your wrists to. It surprises me the NC is doing so well internationally. I could never get into him, I was always waiting for the music to speed up- very negative lyrics, from what I remember of him.

I've been a fan since the days of The Birthday Party. I haven't always found the music that interesting, but he's a phenomenal lyricist and a compelling performer.I'd also say that there's a dark humour in a lot of his work that often gets overlooked.

Incidentally, has anybody else read his novel And the Ass Saw the Angel? It was a surprisingly good first book, and I hope he produces some further prose work in the future.

'Like so many of you
I've got my doubts about how much to contribute
to the already rich among us...'

Robert Wyatt, Gloria Gloom

Is this the same Nick Cave as Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, or am I confusing artists here?
