Those aliens can't be so deaf. They must have taken the good stuff to their own planet, and made us believe they destroyed it.

I can't make the list. Just with Canterbury I have already 4 albums I wouldn't give up to, and it0s not my favorite subgenre.
I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

I would like to bring one more album with me, but I can't, as it's from the same sub-genre as one I've already
listed. What I can do, though, is to tell that it's

Hypnos 69 (B) - Legacy (2010)  Big smile
quality over quantity, and all kind of PopcoRn almost beyond

North Sea Radio Orchestra - I a Moon (Prog Folk)
Swans - To Be Kind (Post Rock)
zoviet france & Fossil Aerosol Mining Project - Patina Pooling (Progressive Electronic)
iamthemorning - Lighthouse (Crossover)
ÖoOoOoOoOoOo - Samen (Experimental/post metal)
Art Zoyd - Phase V (RIO/Avant)
Zopp - Zopp (Canterbury)
Jordsjo - Pastoralia (Symphonic)
Motorpsycho - The Death Defying Unicorn (Eclectic)
Weserbergland - Sacrae Symphonia No. 1 (Kraut)
Banco Del Mutuo Soccorso - Transiberiana (RPI)
Opeth - Heritage (Tech/Extreme)
Anekdoten - Until All The Ghosts Are Gone (Heavy Prog)
Various Artists - Miniatures 2020 (Various Genres)

The RIO and Post Rock categories have the strongest competition. Out of those already posted by others I like Edit Peptide and Clivages most.

sh*t, Grumpy, tough times, but I'm glad of being able to bring albums from many different sub-genres,
and here's my luggage which also is very international:

       (Jazz-Rock)  Accordo dei Contrari  (I)  -  Kublai  (2011)

(Symphonic)  Ciccada  (Gre)  -  A Child In The Mirror  (2010)

(Psychedelic)  Goat  (S) -  Commune  (2014)

(Post-Rock)  Swans  (USA)  -  To Be Kind  (2014)

(Avant Prog)  Univers Zero  (B)  -  Clivages   (2010)

(Space Prog)  Vespero  (Rus)  -  By the Waters of Tomorrow  (2010)

(Zeuhl)  Xing Sa  (F)  -  Creation De L’univers  (2010)

But it's not. Just stuff before 2010.

Clearly this is an attempt to discuss newer music rather than rehash tirades on the classics. And I, for one, am here for it. It'll give me more to add to my "to listen" list.

Unsurprisingly, Edit Peptide would also be on my list. I have now heard Metheny's entire discography, and From This Place is indeed an amazing piece of work, so that would be a decent choice for me as well.

Hi,

I think I will take the silence with me. Wink
Music is not just for listening ... it is for LIVING ... you got to feel it to know what's it about! Not being told!
