I use the recent topics. I've never used this other function you speak of. I'm not even sure I believe it exists.
You are quite a fine person, and I am very fond of you. But you are only quite a little fellow, in a wide world, after all.

Look in the top right corner, it should say New Posts. Click it.

Your pointless diversions will not deter me. My recent posts are right here in front of my eyes where I like them.

Me too.  I have never seen it.  Therefore, it does not exist.  Tongue

This is not directed against religious topics, but against threads taking over the "Recent posts" feature. My thanks go to those who understood this Thumbs Up

I do use the Active Topics feature, but after I use it once and read everything that has been posted for the last day, I don't need to use it again in order to see what are the last two or three posts since the last five minutes.

Some good suggestions have been made, thank you!

I don't see it taking over Recent Posts as a problem. If that's what people want to talk about, the Recent Posts will reflect that, and there are plenty of other ways to see what new things have been posted. I don't even use Active Topics, I refresh and scroll, old school style.

No recent posts for that thread, I've noticed.  Wonder why?  Dead

Where do I report that the search function isn't working right?

I'd prefer "Naked Pics of The Doctor's Girlfriend" thread. Tongue

I do too. Cool However I do understand that people do want to see music discussions on a music site.

My impression is - this forum engine should be more customizable. That is, go to your control panel and (un)check anything you want - displaying of avatars, signatures, special characters, YouTube videos, showing of last posts, showing only some sections etc. etc. etc. I don't know if it's easy to implement it or not - ProgArchives have WebWizForums 9.53 under the hood, and there are some interesting options, such are importing members' profiles from another forum, advanced search options, skin confuguration etc.

Music discussions are interesting only to a point.... Once you have seen most of them, only real-life issues can really hold my interest in the forum. Once in a while I enter a music discussion but that happens less and less every week..... Besides, talking about real things tends to be more interesting to me these days.. or reading about them (like in the atheist thread).

This is a music forum but as forums go, it would die without something other than music...

The problem is that we have now about how, 5, or even more religion-themed threads. But we can't move them in one, because the structure (reply-reply-reply) would broke apart.

And when I try to search something with search function, I always end up with no results. What a pity.

There's a point where "avant-garde" and "experimental" becomes "terrible" and "pointless,"

Would it help if there were two "recent posts" lists. One for music topics and one for non-music?

I cannot do this myself (of course!), but if there is a strong demand for it, I'm sure M@x would be listening.

I approve.
Or make a Politics and Religion section that doesn't show on "recent posts" like the JFF.

"New Posts" should show exactly what it does say: "New Posts". if only topics not relating to music appear there then it simply means no post on topics related to music have been posted lately. where is your problem with that? I think it should remain exactly the way it is; you can always go to a certain sub-forum and see the new topics there

^ The New Posts feature is available only on the Forum Home.

My problem with is that sometimes the post rate in the religious threads is so high that I can't follow the music-related posts in New Posts. It's the same reason for which the Just For Fun section is prohibited in the New Posts feature.

By your logic, we should put Just For Fun in the New Posts, because those posts are new posts too.
