For once, I'll agree 100% with you!Clap Geddy is a great singer, especially now that he sings in a lower register.

That cronic smoker from The Nice... the poor guy. I think he wasnt even a singer or a bass player. He simply was passing by near the rehearsal room in wich Keith emerson was having one of his rage outbursts because he needed a singer bass player, and in that outburst, Emerson took him by th throat and say to him "Bass play sing or die"... Sorry, I really couldn't find something better to add. But still, that Kick in the harmony singer is my choice for worst voice.

Other choices: every singer on every Rick Wakeman album.

Geede Lee is ok, but he's gonna have to pay for my windows and mirror.

I'd vote for Fish but when I heard Steve Howe live and on the "Close To The Edge" bonus live-in-studio outtakes he was AWFUL!!! So Steve Howe wins LOL

ha ha, agreed, but I will say Steve Howe really has no business singing as lead. His back-up work with Yes is top notch though.

I can't believe Howe isn't winning this hands down! Can't be many worse singers than him in the world. Thus, he gets my vote, of course.
However, he isn't a 'main' or 'lead' singer in a band. So he probably shouldn't be there.
In that case I would probably vote for Andy Latimer - good guitarist, shame about the depressing voice!LOL

For me it is ridicolous squeak of Geddy Lee (great musician nevertheless and perhaps it is very painstaking to sing this way).

Actually, I find Steve Hackett quite intolerable. But because I love his music so, I put up with it.

[QUOTE=WaywardSon] But I do have to say La Brie´s voice has improved a lot on Octavarium[QUOTE]

I agree totally. Something about his vocal approach to Octavarium puts it on the the top of my DT list. Scenes slipped to #2.

The singer from Tool. He sounds like he's going to cry the entire time. And Fish as well. Put me off from Marillion.

Ha ha When people started bashing La Brie you start bashing Russel Allen.
It´s like a guy who gets fired from his job and takes it out on his wife

(But I do have to say La Brie´s voice has improved a lot on Octavarium)

....what????Geddy Lee has a particular voice...yes, I agree with this...but he is one of the greatest bassist of prog and metal...so shut up please!Rush are 45 per cent Geddy lee, 45 per cent Peart and just 10 per cent Alex Lifeson...

What people don't seem to realize is that Lifeson writes ALL the songs with Geddy... No Lifeson, no Rush... And for those of you doubting his abilities as a player ('cause we all know he is an amazing songwriter and a truly original one), listen to his solo on the 'Exit... Stage Left' version of La Villa Strangiato and come back to me saying he's better than you thought he was !

ClapClapClap

Lifeson's contribution is as important as that of Lee and Peart. He's the guitarist, for heaven's sake - and Rush have always put a lot of emphasis on the guitar (even if it may not seem so at a first glance). As to his abilities as a player, he may not be a virtuoso as his two sidekicks, but he's certainly one of the greatest unsung guitar heroes in rock.
