The only way I'll part with it is if you give me an Alex Browne trading card.

Oh, I forgot - Bryan Josh of Mostly Autumn is also exceptionally warm and approachable. I shared a pint and a long conversation with him prior to a great gig in Cardiff a couple of years ago.

I don't really understand the question, either, but my favourite band are Marillion, with Yes & Genesis coming in a gnat's hair breadth after. As for non prog, I've always loved The Levellers, who most definitely are very friendly and willing to spend the time of day with you. I was influenced by the music and the politics with them. They are followed by The Tansads, who (sadly), very few have even heard of, but hailed from Wigan, England, and made some great LPs in the vein of The Levellers during the 90's. They also shared a pint with you as well Anyone who, like me, enjoys some of the folkier prog, would be very well advised to go out and buy stuff from both bands, although you might struggle to find any Tansads now. They are certainly not prog either of them, but they have strong celtic, folk, and punk influences together with a very good feel for melodic and soulful ballads.

Using these criteria it's IQ for me. They always mingle with the fans before and after gigs and are genuine nice guys .
I've spoken with all the band at one time or another, but I particularly remember a nice chat I had with Martin Orford years ago, probably mid-80s. I was delighted to hear he's a big fan of Eddie Jobson, as I am .

I dont really care much about the bands personalities either, unless they are utter facists, I suppose, but there doesn't appear to be many of them in rock music generally..
Frank Dunnery of It Bites shared half a pint of lager with me once, and Wayne Hussey of The Mission kissed me on the cheek, for some reason, but hey....

If you count personality as the biggest part of the equation (it's not
for me), then I would go with...Rush. They seem to be very nice guys, and if
you don't act like an idiot around them they can be very fun to talk to
(from what I've seen in numerous interviews). After Rush, I would go with Tony
Banks from Genesis. I have millions of questions to ask Tony Banks. I
don't think he's a very social or energetic man, but then again, I'm
not usually social or energetic, either. Still, regardless of
personality, I would love to meet Tony Banks.
My five favorite bands overall are:
1. Genesis 2. Rush 3. Iron Maiden 4. Led Zeppelin 5. Pantera

Would you like some Bailey's?

I'm not, generally, really that interested in musicians' personalities, nor do I go to many concerts so I'm not that interested in how they interact with audiences, I'm interested in the music itself. My favourite bands probably would be Magma and Art Zoyd, and I'm very big of Robert Wyatt, Henry Cow, Miles Davis, Heldon, and Art Bears. There are many others that rank very highly in terms of music, but those have been so important to me. I guess I feel that I "know" Robert Wyatt best, so in a personality poll, I would feel compelled to vote for him -- musically he is one of my favourite artists too.
Outside of music in the archives, I like John Coltrane and Stockhausen muchly (as well as much classical), but it's for the music.
So I guess Robert Wyatt, though not a band, would fit best. I would love to have met the various guys from Soft Machine.

Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

Can't say I've met too many of them.
After a show, the lead singer for The Marshall Tucker band tried to get me drunk when I was 17 (seriously).
I'd love to meet Kansas (When I lived in GA I had the chance to do so when they recorded Device Voice Drum in Atlanta, but I couldn't afford to go). I think having a beer with Rich Williams and Robby Steinhardt would be cool, and of course I'd love to meet Kerry Livgren.

There are bands which I enjoy their music but I dont like the band because the members are arrogant (perhaps this is the criteria for me). And yes how friendly they are is also a criteria.

I dont understand either..
My favourite band, for the record is Genesis, but that IS because I like their music more than anyone elses. Not sure what other criteria there is, to be honest..

Can't say I understand what you are asking.
Do you want us to tell which band we like because of how friendly they are when they come over to visit?
