I know this has been said before, but you may want to set a time limit on your polls for the tournament. I see a Genesis vs Yes battle next round that may could go on for a year if you wait until the voting stops. Setting the rules now will probably save you a lot of headaches.

Amen. I don't think anyone has assumed this to be a scientific process, right? It seems to me that this particular battle poll ran longer than a number of other polls in the series. So, fair seems fair.
But this is easy for me to say as I'm just looking forward to when we get past the block of metal acts.

It wouldn't be fair to redo the poll just cause some people are unhappy with the outcome. It's just for fun anyway....it's not the end of the world.

ahem Matt

OK Matt, this is probably true. But anyway, when there are these two bands so close to each other, I personally would like to have new pool just to see which one will win this fight. Of course, nor DT nor RS will make it past Genesis, but one of them will proceed. I heard just ADHD so I can't tell much about RS, but from what I've heard, I like it. So do I like DT. But as somebody said already, it's Undercover VdGG cake Boy's decision :-)

It would be nice to redo both polls but this time one on one. Excluding Shadow Gallery, Peter Hammill and the rest of the other options of the polls. Just GG vs. VDGG and DT vs. Riverside. And this time really set a dead line for voting as I suggested before. Anyway, it's up to UndercoverBoy. It's his tournament and we'll have to respect his decision. Plus, I would have liked that DT moved on to the next round, but I also loved when VDGG won.

Because if VDGG didn't make it past Round 1 it would be a travesty. Also, some people did complain.

Well now...? is there a script or a law about how long a poll should be open...? I don't see that this poll lasted more than others... and I say repeat the poll only with the two winners... because, at the end of the day... DT is winning -as usual- so.... repeat it... damn it...!!! just qouting Rob...

In fairness, Riverside was winning for almost a week and this poll stayed open far longer than most of the other ones. If you DT fans wanted them to win so much, you should have gotten your votes in earlier.
| In fairness, I don't care either way.
Yes or King Crimson or Pink Floyd will wipe the floor with whatever metal band gets moved along anyway.

Yes, so we noted, and we managed to get Kansas moved from symphonic to prog-related while you weren't looking
| That's the only way it would happen! Interesting how you just reviewed Zappa's debut and Bitches Brew, and I bought both of those this weekend.

As I'm sure many here are, I'm shocked that DT lost. Not that I really wanted DT to lose, but I'm glad for these unexpected events to happen in the tournament. |
Um...Dream Theater is winning.
I just voted for them, by the way (was away for the past several days).
I demand a recount.
