I used to really like Zeppelin back when I was a kid and they were still together. Yet, I found that I was always trying to convince myself that I liked their music. Hmm...not good. Well, now I'm 53 and don't really like them at all. However, for some reason, I adore 'Houses Of The Holy.'

To me, that is their best album, by far. It has the widest variety of styles, and features their best track, 'The Rain Song.' It's the only Zep album I own. Love it!

Definitely Physical Graffiti.  "Kashmir" has been played to death, but it has my fave Zep song, "In My Time of Dying".   LZ II is a close second...when it came out you couldn't go anywhere without hearing "Whole Lotta Love" on the radio.

"Disasters" is a bit strong, I can understand why people wouldn't like "D'yer Mak'er" and "Dancing Days" has a slightly repetitive riff, but I think they're both good songs.

No, I don't like Plant, Page, Jones and Bonham's music too if you can believe that Shocked. Oh yeah and it doesn't help when you don't give credit to artists when credit is due. Plant's vocals get irritating after awhile, Bonham's fills and playing style is virtually the same, Jones' playing does nothing for me, he is average and Page, well he might be the most overrated guitarist in rock music. He is good technically(the only redeeming quality of LZ) but otherwise their music gets old pretty quick for me. Aside from Rush(1974). I don't hear any Led Zeppelin influence, it's either Rush themselves or Genesis, Yes or other influences

I have to agree...never really cared for Dyer Maker or Grunge and why wasn't the title track on there..?
Nevertheless Houses is a fine lp .

Agreed, but I would say Zep primarily took their risks live, and I mean risks (there were times they sounded truly awful), whereas it could be said Rush has a more diverse catalog.  Of course they've been together continuously since '68.

John died of heart failure/heart attack and from diabetes complications in 2008 I believe

^ If you want variety on your record, you have to be able to justify it. You have to understand what those genres are about so that you can actually sound authentic. If you want to, you can always put your own twist on a genre ... kind of re-define it ... which is a risky business, I think.
