I used to really like Zeppelin back when I was a kid and they were still together. Yet, I found that I was always trying to convince myself that I liked their music. Hmm...not good. Well, now I'm 53 and don't really like them at all. However, for some reason, I adore 'Houses Of The Holy.'
To me, that is their best album, by far. It has the widest variety of styles, and features their best track, 'The Rain Song.' It's the only Zep album I own. Love it! |

Definitely Physical Graffiti. "Kashmir" has been played to death, but it has my fave Zep song, "In My Time of Dying". LZ II is a close second...when it came out you couldn't go anywhere without hearing "Whole Lotta Love" on the radio.

^ But then you have to justify those risks. And you can do a lot of other things with music.

^ If you want variety on your record, you have to be able to justify it. You have to understand what those genres are about so that you can actually sound authentic. If you want to, you can always put your own twist on a genre ... kind of re-define it ... which is a risky business, I think.
