I like cartoons, and Asterix is one of my favourite cartoon heroes.
My last avatar before Asterix was a painting by Paul Whitehead, the guy who did early Genesis sleeves.
Earlier on I used album sleeves I like, from Anthony Phillips, Eddie Jobson and Traffic. I started out with a Mondriaan painting (my first avatar).
I just like to use images I like, and have to do with music or art that I like.

I'm a big Magma fan, but other posters use or have used variants of their famous logo. My avatar is the cover of Christian Vander's solo album Wurdah Itah, which is a Magma album in all but name. It's also the second movement of the Theusz Hamtaahk (Time of Hatred) trilogy - Wurdah Itah means Dead Earth (as in the planet).

My favourite band is Ozric Tentacles and my avatar is from their album "Live at the Pongmaster's Ball" because it has a really psychedelic cover.

I'm a HUGE motorsport fan and my avatar is of the Aston Martin DBR9 that won the Tourist Trophy at Silverstone in May (driven by David Brabham and Darren Turner).
I was at the race and took the picture as the car came round the Abby hairpin bend.
Gorgeous car

To Watch The Storms...apart from being a superb album by the incredible Mr Steve Hackett, watching the storms seemed pretty apt for a moderator!

I just changed mine from a marvelous picture of the great Karl Jenkins
to Klaus Schulze's album X, by far one of the best eletronic albums I
have heard to date.

Mine was a spinning hammer and sickle for awhile ... but it's been a picture of a grave injustice that occured at a football match between Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United for quite some time now

My avatar is an orange M&M dressed as Emperor Palpatine from Star
Wars. My sons bought loads of these while we were on holiday in Florida.

I change my avatar from time to time, sometimes it reflects an album that I am listening to heavily, right now it is a picure of some of my tattoo on my back, that I took over my shoulder through a mirror!
