I was merely inquiring as to whether Mr Heavyfright had been 'buttered' (up) by his scout master, causing him to run away.....
...a perfectly innocent question.....

I'm off to see Tinyfish at the Peel in Kingston on Saturday. It's a prog night with a couple of other bands supporting, so it should be a good do. If anyone else fancies it, I'll see you there. I'll be the one in the Led Zep t-shirt, carrying a copy of Nursery Cryme and "What Shed?". |
their cd is good - i hope you'll manage to write a review of the show...

Ok, over the weekend I have been doning a lot of gardening...... ..... today as my spade went into the ground I accidently killed a beetle, I hate doing this, firstly cos I don't want to kill the poor little creature, and more importantly because I was once told if you kill a beetle it will rain for 40 days (There must've been a beetle MASACRE in the UK recently!) . It got me thinking, I know the day John Lennon was shot it did indeed rain in the UK, but did it rain for 40 days? Or maybe it only works on a local level, did it rain for 40 days in New York?
This thought has been bugging me all day......answers on a postcard.....or in the grey room please!

It is only Rain Beetles that cause rain (I've never heard of the 40 days bit), John was originally a Silver Beatle - which is a different species all together and has no apparent rain-making abilities.
And... John was no longer a Beatle in 1980 - he had transmogrified into a being of a higher state of , erm, being.
I too was gardening, trimming the hedges for the second time this year (bleedin' weather!) and only managed to slice throught the cable once - which is a bonus as it allowed me a break while I took the trimmer to peices to re-wire it. I'm now knackered and looking forward to a long relaxing radox soak in t'bath with some equally relaxing prog on the iPlod and a well deserved glass of iPlonk. (Can't do that in the shower )
Oh well, a Brit didn't win Wimbledon, the British GP or the Tour de France (stage 1) - so we can go back to being crap at sports again for another year. (anyway, well done to David Millar for taking the King of the Mountains jersey - quite an achievement in Kent)

I was Alan...
more importantly, do you think that Jamie and Jelena will get it together, now??
apparently, she promised to kiss him all over, if they won....

There we might have our answer.... if you kill a beetle (or even a beatle.. ) then it will (monsoon) rain in India for 40 days....
...ergo, it will rain relentlessly on RoVeR and his loved ones, and all because you weren't watching where you put your spade...
let this be a lesson to you, Rachel...

I haven't. This was just a quick visit. You know when life is giving you a hard time you talk to the elderly? I was just asking for help.
