I don't know. Maybe you can ask an administrator to put a query on the underlying database. But I bet that it will be Marillion before the next spring: up to now nine gig registrations this month.

It's likely Zappa or John Zorn. Both have released an astronomical number of albums.

If you get Wakeman's, Zappa's and Zorn's discographies together you will have over 9000 albums, that's for sure.

Reducing the question to prog artists, I think that those are the main artists.
Outside Prog, the first one I remember is John Lee Hooker.

I have 62 albums by Rick Wakeman (Solo only, not counting Yes or ABWH, etc.) and I know I'm still missing at least a dozen.

1% of the artists has 95% of the total albums in there I think. Take Wakeman, Zappa, Residents, Tangerine Dream, and you have about six years of music...

Agree with the Miles Davis suggestion, if you like jazz and fusion. There's 40-50 years worth of music there.
