I have been listening to Genesis since the early 70s, and since The Lamb ( which is my fav Genesis album incidentally ) was released in 74, I have yet to hear one fan ( outside this forum) mention or list The Waiting Room among their favourite Genesis tracks. It is a good instrumental and fits well with the album's atmosphere - but it is stretching the imagination just a little to suggest that it belongs among Genesis' more memorable tracks. |
Yeah, that's what I meant Are you the famous "Keltic" from various other forums of old?

Or infamous ? Whichever you prefer.
Well, of course 'tis me . If I catch anyone impersonating my good self, he ( or she ) will hereby be sentenced to listen to those ghastly Phil Collins solo albums forever more in a darkened room.
I was gently hauled/cajoled out of semi - retirement ( er, make that invited ) to <aherm> add a little spice to this here proggy forum - whilst offering my very own unique take and slant on things.
I'm settling in quite nicely.

Yeah, that's because I'm odd, so I guess that's why.

It's a trick question to name just three because there are four songs that stick out:
1. Supper's Ready
2. Firth of Fifth
3. One for the Vine/Cinema Show (that's why I'm cheating a bit here)
Musical Box, Stagnation and Looking for Someone are great as well.

I don't consider myself odd, but I've always loved The Waiting Room. Whilst it doesn't quite make my top 3, it's close. Love the weird bit, but the end sequence of the song particularly is amazing music, and a real highlight of The Lamb.

Hello all,
- Supper's Ready - The Fountain Of Salmacis - Star of Sirius
OK, for the last one I cheated. But the track has been called elsewhere the greatest Genesis song not on a Genesis album. I find I can't get enough of that track, let alone many of the others on Acolyte.
But if forced to give a #3 track actually by Genesis then I suppose I would say good old reliable Watcher of the Skies. But then again how can I leave out the Lamb? Or leave out... oh decisions, decisions!
