I wasn't planning to post here ... but I saw that the thread already had two pages and figured that probably already arguments were going on about whether the thread was appropriate or not, or whether it was getting enough attention etc..

I agree with you ... people should keep away if they simply don't have anything meaningful to say. Having said that, let me say something:

RIP.

I'll always remember her from the Canonball Run film and of course Charlie's Angels.  She always seemed to be a nice person when interviewed or reported on.
When people get lost in thought it's often because it's unfamiliar territory.

I too had that iconic poster on my wall as a youngster - almost seems as if part of my teenage years has gone.

RIP

Both deserve to be mourned, even if neither personally touched me all that much.

I don't care actually. Not truly. But platitudes are very easy.

If she was the mega star that Jackson was, I'm sure she would get the same coverage.

I don't agree both "deserve" to be mourned.

I am not mourning either of them.
But you still have the energy ( life force) to post in her thread....Disapprove.

RIP - Farrah Fawcett. A beautiful woman and thanks for those 70's memories....

Its "her" thread is it?
Oh well.
If people are offended by my posts here....I almost said sorry there.....but why lie?

EDIT

On reflection, even though I believe my views are valid, I shouldn't have posted in this thread. Its obvious any negative view in a thread like this is not accepted.(Although what I wrote wasn't actually negative).

I didn't dislike or hate her. Just thought she was unremarkable.

Now carry on..........Smile

Is it really too much to ask to keep it respectful?

Never cared much about Charlie's Angels, but the Cannonball Run is a classic. Ironically/Tragically it also features Dom DeLuise ...

^^The post was a blanket statement for the thread altogether. That meant for past, present and future posts and wasn't directed at one person.

It's all good.

I feel sorry for her; anal cancer seems like a painful and humiliating way to go.

Whatever you think of her as a sex symbol or actress I ,for one, admired her courage to do do some really non-sexy projects like The Burning Bed. I also admire her fight with her killer in that she never let it get the best of her.  She made a couple of embarrassing appearances, most notably William Shatner's roast, it turned out she was going through treatment. She never complained or tried to avoid the issues. I think she was a great role model for the way she handled this.  I am really just kind of upset that MJ died the same day because more people needed to hear about her story more than the Elvisation of MJ.

So sad that she is gone. She was the beauty of the 70's. Hard to believe she was 62.

She was not really my type, but I remember her iconic poster used to be sold wherever TALES FROM TOPOGRAPHIC OCEANS, CLOSE TO THE EDGE or Led Zep posters were sold, back in 1975-1976. Does that make her prog-related?
